Your photos are getting a lot better than when I used to visit more often. I guess Dr Grubb doesn't have as much to scoff about these days?

If Autumn is officially approaching, it might be time to explain yet again exactly how the Purple Sandpiper totaliser works. For the benefit of any new readers and those old readers who really never followed the explanation the first 3 times.

I think the deer in the second pic looks far from nonchalant. Startled would be more accurate. Perhaps he's wondering how the heck the paparazzi tracked him down again.

Cracking shot indeed. It's at least 5 minutes since I last saw a shot that quite so clearly featured a bird. Well done indeed.

You shouldn't stomp so loud when you're walking. :-)

Perhaps it's a paper bag job? What do the babies look like?

Wouldn't it be lovely. It's blooming expensive, though - 200 grand for 2 beds. Is that typical for Aberdeen?

Actually, I got my protractor out and even allowing for the sloping horizon the mast is still 3 degrees away from vertical. (Hint: Much of this sentence is a complete lie)

Do you think they've noticed yet that it's a bit squint?

Density is no prerequisite for failing to grasp the totaliser, Delia. And, for heaven's sake, don't ask him to explain it again. :-) p.s. Welcome home, Dr W

Well, I never. That is an incredible fall. Conditions must have been superb. p.s. Where are you off to this time?

At least you didn't go all the way from Peterborough to Lewis and spend a day seawatching in force 10 gales in order to dip them. Some of us know how to dip in style. :-)

It is possible to be too old to remember things and too young to remember them all at the same time. I am too young to remember the war, for example. Life is indeed winning. Although I did see a nice duck last Wednesday - maybe I will trot over to my thread and mention it.

That is what many Bananas looked like before the EU threw out all the straight ones. You are too young to remember, no doubt.
