    16 crossbills and a hawfinch were a great sight at chatsworth this afternoon. They were in the larches by the river as you get closer to the house end walking from calton lees. Also a little grebe on the river too.

    2 greenshank, and 3 snipe at the wildlife centre at carsington today, then went round to sheepwash and had 2 common sandpipers at paul stanley hide along with a juvenile Little Ringed Plover. Good numbers of butterflies today, best being 12 Brimstone.

    Had a couple of curlew and a Common Sandpiper fly over the house last night. Nuthatch and Coal Tit back on the feeders.

    Nice Bee there Steph, looks familiar, but not totally sure if I have seen one in my garden or not. Getting a moths around, orange underwing, swallowtail and another I need to get identified. Butterflies have been really low in numbers. the only one of note being a ringlet through.

    Thanks Daniel, noted for future reference when my brother or mum are free with the cars. Would have had to have got bus to cromford road and then walk the rest of the way if we attempted it today.

    Trying to find this on google maps and not having any joy. Closest I can find is plumptre road as it is on google maps, which is off cromford road and plumptre road goes into stoney lane which goes under the a610. Is it just road side parking down there?
