    Couple of hours this morning at Lackford 4 bitterns on Plover lake and another reported from the charlton - Webster hide !! At least 6 tree sparrows around the feeders

    Lackfords starling roost has been a reasonable 10000/15000 for the last few weeks but is seemingly nothing compared to Hen reedbeds which was on the news the other day with a reported 250,000 birds :eek!: not been there myself so can't confirm this

    Paul, To get to Livermere Lake park by the church and walk down the track between the two gate houses, The lake is approx 300yrds down the track so not a long yomp

    As far i am aware the reserve is open every day, it might be worth ringing the visitors centre on 01842 863400 to check,you can still walk the public footpath along the river bank to the popular plantations anyway

    Hi Jimbob Loompit lake grid ref TM 255377 is the lake close to Levington Marina. You Can walk there from Trimley Marshes or park at the Marina TM 247380.

    Yes you can walk from Levington marina to Trimley reserve around 3-4 km at a guess, plenty to see on the way with a good variety of habitats. As AJC says the Strand is the road to Shotley as it passes under the Orwell Bridge
