Visiting parents for a couple of days, spent some time keeping an eye on the garden, as usual. A Lesser Whitethroat has now been present for a couple of days and is very vocal around the garden. This evening a Turtle Dove has been present under the feeder. Great to watch both birds at close... -

Caught up with the Needham Ferruginous Duck this morning, showing well on Bosmere Lake. I was lucky enough to see a male last year, and had since written off females as not really worth seeing.......poor judgement on my part, this was a nice looking bird. Well done for finding her Jonny! Whats... -

Enjoyable raptor watch at Pipps Ford yesterday, possibly the best new raptor watchpoint in Suffolk. Put in 3 hours myself, although I know Jonny, Wheatear (?) and Allan from Yorks put in a little more time than that! Jonny, I think its a great shout. You had the balls to put the news out, and this is a tough species to ID.
