Thanks to Phil Andrews for posting Andy Pitt's tweet. How different things become in the afternoon. Without going through Andy's list one by one I only found 2 curlew one of which appears to be Tim ?? Yellow darvics on both legs and a small blue one on one leg as well. Toggling my original pic...

Only noted 3 terns myself, yesterday afternoon from the Concrete Hide but of note in that it was 2 adults and a juvenile. That juvenile in fact A44. Not only did it have a darvic but a silver ring on the other leg. Of the two adults one was ringless whilst the other had a silver ring. Shown a...

Not quite sure what is meant here. It is easier for me to read the full Andy Pitt page you posted since I do not have to login to the Forum to enlarge the other version, although once done no problem. Swings and roundabouts unless you are meaning something else. As for twitter I used to be able...

Of note on a rare visit last night - little egret, two oystercatchers one common tern successfully fishing and one avocet very protectively looking after a relatively small offspring. Both parents noted in an early photo. Vegetation easily hides birds. Water levels low.

Woodchat "Absolutely no idea what you are on about" That "my friend" is patently obvious! Yes you do know who I am as I do you. Unintelligible Really! Anyway I thought "the birders" didn't read this site ! To any moderators I apologise in advance for my attitude. Time to leave the...

Woodchat some of us actually are doing our bit and getting on with it quietly; Some of us haven't given up on UW. I haven't got any friends to lose so think before you comment! Put another way and I quote "I don't want to get involved- I get too worked up. If the birds go I'm going too...

Keep out of it mate! I wasn't really having a go at having a go at Gert. Apologies to gert Just simply trying to say that I found it difficult to find it iq general searches and I am concerned for the ordinary person ie the general public who may or may not suffer the same problems. Yes I have...

With respect Lucky You. I've just taken your advice and used my phone- 1st two are for Aztec followed by Upton Warren village , then the Sir Christopher Cadbury site followed by two more of Aztec. I did type in "Upton Warren Birds' and then it came as the the third 0n the list. It won't do...

It was not my intention to draw Gert in particular into the information issue surrounding UW. I would however make these observations:- When Gert's site was set up Phil Andrews did promote it on here, now some pages back. The WWT put a link at the top of the Sir Christopher Cadbury Reserve...

Apologies to non members who may still view this site it is unlikely that I will post on here for the foreseeable future at least. I did put on something this Monday and then removed it all - a fit of pique or despair or even both for UW related reasons I won't go into at the moment. It didn't...

Ian B , Hi. Good to meet you again on Sunday. Yes I did remember the long chat we had a while back. Sorry it takes a while to put new names to new faces. Too much going on in my head , not too little. Have just sent you a P.M. just in case you are not notified by other means. Phil E

Flashes - much is made of it drying out in very prolonged hot weather. I was expecting by now to see it almost totally dry. Looking at the very noticeable tide lines along waterside vegetation the water line in the Flashes has dropped considerably- obvious anyway. Curiously there is no apparent...

At the Flashes an interesting conversation trying to find the pegrine on the mast until we realised there were two. Can't help wondering if one was a young one. Must look at the pic more closely Couldn't find any LRP young only just managed one LRP. Plenty of places to hide . Common and green...

Visited the Moors and the Flashes yesterday not so much for the birds as the site . Apparently for the very early risers the otter was showing well at the Moors. I was up then but not there! Ah well. Much is made of the lack of water at this time of year at the Flashes. More in next post. What...

Okay! So who is missing a set of Pomeranean Ducks a domesticated breed available in though not apparently originating in this country. From Germany I believe. On my June 6 post I put on a "smeg" duck with a normal looking offspring. Yesterday (Wednesday) at the Moors again this bird turned...

Photos taken as is from the Concrete Hide around 4.30 p.m. today I think . The fox walked across the shallow waters from the Broadmeadow area. The sequence shows the reaction, or lack of, from most of the birds including the little egret. Only protests were from the BHGs as it disappeared into...

AND FINALLY from the Flashes. Read the post in the book by AJP Much from 10a.m. was in hiding or gone by 12 noon. That said I went straight to the main hide rather than visit the new one first. These days anything you can't find in the second or third flash is often to be found along the rear...
