    There is a regular wintering male in the Shatterford area and its there this winter so I'd do a loop in this area - you have a very good chance of seeing it. cheers, alan

    Sab's showed well this afternoon off the pier at Weston - thanks to paul for the directions to Riverside park although the highlights were limited to 2 Common Sands and a sandwich tern. A few poor cropped photos of the sab's attached. cheers, alan

    Anyone explain how to get to the dreaded Riverside Park? I spent 40 mins trying to get there from Weston in the rush hour this morning and gave up! Cheers, alan

    Grey Phalaropes here are photos of the two birds: 1. the very orangey bird which I assume was the original Fishtail bird which I later found on Pennington Lagoon - video grab 2. the grey & white bird which was then feeding along the edge of the sea wall as in the photo above - Canon 30D So...

    Lee At low tide it should return to the exposed mud just off seawall by the keyhaven lagoon. At its closest here it was just about gettable but with a DSLR + 400m but I'd take a converter. More of a digiscoper's bird today really. cheers, alan

    Lee 2 of the hides are now open; goosander hide the best for the gulls but you'll still need a good scope. Good luck with the search for caspians! alan

    On Sunday, the Keyhaven Osprey (an adult) took its second fish from Avon Water over to the IOW! Especially good value when harrassed by one of the regular hobbies. A little bit more elusive than last years juvenile but it seems to be finding Avon Water to its liking. alan
