    No sign of the Black Redstarts, I have seen the 3 together on odd occasions since November. This year though they seem a bit hit and miss unlike previouse years when I have seen them on a daily basis. I was wondering if its because they have been upgrading the security fences.

    A couple of hours around Ashlett Creek scrub this morning produced 5 singing Nightingales, a single Whitethroat, 4 Blackcaps, 2 Bullfinches as well as loads of chiffchaffs and willow warblers, Highlight was an Osprey flying over towards the Hamble area.

    Calshot 16-03-08 Wheatear numbers had increased to 7 by this afternoon also 3 Black Redstarts were just inside the power station fence just up from the bridge 1male, 2 female, most other birds were sensibly keeping out of the wind.
