    Cornwall Birding

Fact is I didn’t realise you were a CBWPS director and not just a loose cannon! if you speak for the whole ‘New' CBWPS board’ I apologise for confusing arrogance/sarcasm for a genuine concern. As you appear only too eager to play the “twitching card” can you confirm, as spokesman for CBWPS...
  6. Q

    Cornwall Birding

This appears to be an odd strategy to retain or recruit badly needed younger members to CBWPS! (by insulting them if they dare voice a genuine concern)

    Cornwall Birding

Looking at this bird again with the leg colour I'm thinking, why is this a hybrid and not an odd Blue or Dark morph Snow Goose? it's only the bill colour appearing to be untypical. Colin

    Cornwall Birding

I don’t think you mentioned this hybrid Goose? Given the overall size, wedge-shaped head plus strongly curved border at the base of the bill all suggests a Snow Goose x ?? I didn’t see the all important leg colour.

    Cornwall Birding

A Dunlin standing out from its companions this morning at Amble Marshes, even at a distance strongly recalling Curlew Sandpiper and more advanced in its moult to winter plumage, it could well be the same individual that was at Davidstow Airfield (only approximately 9 miles away) At the moment...

  14. Q

    Cornwall Birding

Dunlin poss hudsonia/sakhalina. OK I suppose somebody has to resurrect that old chestnut ‘possible hudsonia Dunlin’ again and it might as well be me. The bird in question has been in the wader flock at Davidstow Airfield today and for at least a week, it’s really easy to find. It might well be...

    Cornwall Birding

Hi Dave, The computer was not the problem; it was lack of any broadband connection, at the moment I have a connection though a ridiculously low speed (0.3mbps) better than none but not much. In reporting bird sightings on the runways at Davidstow Airfield it’s easy to forget that species like...

  18. Q

    Cornwall Birding

Looks like I made a mistake there is no denying the primary projection, has anyone else seen this individual? no sign this evening and no one looking. I have never seen a Pec smaller than Dunlin before ( photo left hand bird) and never seen a broad split super like this one.
