    had a walk around otmoor with wife on her first proper birdwatch late today.quite quiet but had good view of a male merlin, and sedge and reed warbler seen well also. she quite enjoyed it as well.

    hi i dont know if anyone is interested but after correspondence with birdwatching magazine about lack of coverage for oxfordshire as we are never mentioned in ukbs.the reply was basically they have been looking for county recorders or societys to supply info on oxfordshires birds for sometime...

    at stoke wood today 2 firecrests male showing crest really well.i dont know if they breed there?also chiffchaff and i think willow warbler ,marsh tits also seen.

    yes gareth its the spinney you want, theres a layby each side of the road, one side has a gate overlooking fields and farm,you want to go the other side of the road to this ,in centre of the spinney is a clearing scan around trees,normally far side of road and you should spot them.

    newbottle is between kings sutton and charlton. they take some finding but see them regular there .someone told me they had seen lsw there but they have not shown to me yet .have not even heard gsw there this year so far.

    havent seen ant migrants yet either.water rails and snipe showing really well at otmoor still, 3 or 4 rails together at times, lapwings and skylarks putting on lovely displays also.stoke wood today had a few goldcrests ,treecreeper, nuthatch and few bull finch,just wating for the warblers.

    took eldest daughter to otmoor today she listed 46 birds inc great views of hen harrier peregrine,water rail,snipe and ruff she said her best otmoor day ever .we also got merlin on way to islip and little and barn owl other side of ardley.

    ther was at least two red crested pochard at college lake bucks at the weekend as wellas usual grebes and other waterfowl.my target birds for this year are lots of waders ,dipper and lots n lots of warblers some i hope around oxon. ne help most gratefully recieved

    3 goldcrests, various tits,green & greater spotted woodpecker ,siskins seen in stoke wood .little grebe at stratton audley lake
