    15 + Hobbies over the reedbed at Otmoor this afternoon, also 6 Ringed Plkovers and 2 Dunlin on the floods and a reeling Grasshopper Warbler near the second screen.

    A cold but sunny early morning at Otmoor today - highlights - reeling Grasshopper Warbler by the bridleway, 4 Cuckoos calling, Turtle Dove purring behind the car park. A Hobby was flushed from its roost by the first screen and a Marsh Harrier appeared briefly over the reedbeds. 2-3 drumming...

    At 10am this morning, seen well but briefly in the apple tree in the first garden on the left as you enter Mickle Way, viewed at close range over the fence from the road.

    Darren, the grounds are open til 6.30pm (there is a literary festival on at present, so no problem parking inside the gates) the lake is obvious to the N/W of the palace - look west from the bridge, but this (west) lake also has an arm that cannot be seen from the bridge - walk down...

    2 Grasshopper warblers and 3 Whitethroats singing in the car park field at Otmoor this morning. In fact, 7 species of warbler audible from the track!

    The Great Northern Diver still on F2 at Farmoor this afternoon, diving actively but mostly in the centre of the reservoir. En route, a Red Kite over the A420 at Southmoor, not seen one there before....
