Thanks Gareth - i always read your reports even if i dont post much myself. I had some mediocre shots last week of the Barn Owl that resides at Farmoor - the distance was just that bit too much, even with my digiscope set up @ 1200mm

Never saw the Cranes at Farmoor, sadly, but found a pair of Shelduck which they've used in the online Farmoor Log Book http://farmoor-birding.com/LOG-BOOK

Strange one today - Barn Owl wafting past the bird hide at Farmoor about mid afternoon ! Nice. Shame he was so far away, Google Earth marked the distance at 197 metres ( 640 ft ). Still, a privilege to capture this beauty

As always at Farmoor, no sign of anyone with a key to get in the hide. Got some shots from around the basin only. Scaup / Scoter Shag not in range today http://photo-sharing.winsoftmagic.com/1/kavppvgopq.jpg http://photo-sharing.winsoftmagic.com/1/9hcdu3knnp.jpg...

I really must get over to Farmoor soon - I made a trip to Otmoor a couple of weeks back - but there was some idiot with a 12 bore right in the next field behind the furthest hide, blasting Partridge, or something, out of the sky :C

Amazing - hard to spot in the UK. Not as difficult as the Rock Pipit though - what do you think ? Some people here think they've seen Rock Pipit, when its been Meadow or Tree. Cant blame them though - i find it hard to tell the difference too.

Cheers GB That could be him - not very showy though. He was mostly hidden all that day. I'm due for a Farmoor visit soon. You going Gareth ?

Wow - thats a good catch :t: Is he sure it was a Water rather than the much more abundant Tree and Meadow ?

Hi folks - just slipped a quickie in the Hello forum, and then slunk straight into the Oxon camp ;) Rather late to be mentioning stuff already seen, but i saw that Bittern at Ottmoor - i was so blown away i could barely keep still. Tufted Duck , Pochard , Canadas, GCG's too. Caught the BH...
