    Does anyone know a good site in Dorset for Jack Snipe? I've heard that they can be regularly seen in the Avon Valley, but is there any specific area that is worth searching? Thanks for any help!

    A real sense of spring today- first swallow of the year at Lodmoor and another two at Radipole, chiffchaffs singing at both reserves and two willow warblers singing at Radipole. I also saw the stone-curlews at Butterstreet Cove today- wow!

    I had a great morning at Portland this morning- but seriously annoyingly missed the bluethroat! We saw ring ouzel, 4 black redstarts, c.120 wheatears and a common tern around the Bill and then the Kentish plover showing well at Ferrybridge.

    We found the whooper swan and pink-footed goose both from Holme Bridge today, before the whooper flew east. Also two woodcock, dozens of snipe and hundreds of fieldare and redwing there.     Hi Wendy, I haven't had the chance to look today, but there are not many berries in our garden, so it's likely to have moved on. Probably still in the area though as there are quite a few berries nearby. Greg
