The GGS is very elusive, I was around Morden for 2 hours on Monday but didn't see it, whereas on other occasions it will be the 1st bird you spot! I've visited Morden about 12 times this year and only seen it twice

Thanks for replying Mike, looks like there aren't many people using this thread anymore, shame it's been a good source of info over the years. Good to know the Purple Sandpipers are back, will check for our local winterers over the next week, also had my 1st Jack Snipe of autumn at Lytchett...

Thought I'd put a message on here as I haven't posted in a while. There was a drake Lesser Scaup found at Longham Lakes yesterday and has still been present all day today. Pics from yesterday where it was close on North lake although in poor light. Just wondered if many people still read this...

Thanks Paul for still keeping the information coming out either via here or DBC sightings. I went again this morning and had nice views by your house. I'm not sure how you're getting much work done at the moment with these beauties visiting daily.

Happy New Year Happy New Year to all Dorset Birdforum readers. 2016 was a great birding year locally especially at Lytchett Fields. Final numbers for the site were a record breaking total of 169, beating last years previous record breaking figure of 160. I personally saw 162(not including a...

Glad to hear you got the Lesserlegs, I was there after the rain at about 930 and the Lesserlegs was still on FP, as with the previous couple of days it spends lots of time in the rushes/sedges on the back of FP so it can go unnoticed for long periods. A couple of adds to your wader list with a...

Hi, The LYL has occasionally been pushed off the fields on high tides which will be building up towards this weekend highs. Best chance is to visit in the couple of hours before high tide where all the waders are pushed from the bay onto the fields. Looking at the tide charts for Thurs/Fri I...

Another good few days at Lytchett Fields. A great White Egret on FP briefly last week, and then yesterday a Lesser Yellowlegs turned up with the masses of Redshank on SP on the rising tide. Unfortunately it has chosen the weekend with the highest tides of the year so it left the fields as they...
