Holes Bay Holes Bay / Upton Country Park, 100+ Avocet, 8x Lapwing, Common Sandpiper. Also large numbers of Wigeon & Redshank. -

Brands Bay / Poole Harbour Brands Bay / Poole Harbour. Good numbers of Avocet, Goldeneye, Red-Breasted Merganser, Pintail and Brent Goose. Unfortunately I didn't manage to see the Long Tail Ducks, apparently 5 flew over the harbour just after I left. -

I think I will have a walk up to Longham this weekend, it sounds like a nice spot. I visited a few places today, Hatch Pond is still hiding the Bittern from me, new site ticks for me there today were one loan Pochard and a Chiffchaff. Upton Country Park / Holes Bay gave great views of Buzzards... -

Hatch Pond, Friday It was fairly quiet on Hatch Pond yesterday due to the rough weather and very high water. A pair of Little Grebe were the only new additions, busy feeding among the reeds at the back of the pond. Other birds included Tufted Duck, Shoveler, Gadwall and 6 Snipe that I could... -
