    For what it's worth, a Buzzard was displaying over Blandford at lunch time, and it was carrying a stick which looked like jesses at first, but I got the scope out and it was definitely a stick. Red Kite also over the town at lunch time.

    One was swimming downstream just above Town Bridge on Tuesday last week. Anywhere between Town Bridge and the bridge over the By-pass is worth a look, but. the area around the black footbridge/old railway arches is still favourite.

    Wednesday Afternoon A Mediterranean Gull over Blandford at 1.45 this afternoon with a mixed Gull flock. A Red Kite over the A354 at Handley Cross at 3 p.m. and the same, or another bird, over Harley Gap an hour later.

    14 Waxwings in Larksmead in Blandford this morning including six in a Rowan tree in our garden. Needless to say I was at work, but my wife very kindly took some photos. I see on Birdguides that there were 24 Waxwings in Old Farm Gardens also in Blandford this afternoon.

    Hen Harrier(s) Two ringtail Hen Harriers - or the same one twice. The first along the A354 Salisbury Road at the Critchel turning at 12.40, and the second at 16.30 at Bottlebush Down on the Handley to Cranborne road.

    For the past week, there's been a flock of 50 or so Golden Plover in the field between the Toll House and the Critchel turning, between Tarrant Hinton and Thickthorns on the Blandford to Salisbury road.
