The Robin/Hawfinch issue also appears with birdNET (and hence the BirdWeather network) too.

I made a long slog through the floods to Dunkeld today where I picked up some early-ish Redwings but not much else of interest, the day was severely truncated by having to bypass a flooded train track between Stirling and Perth (projected to not clear until end of tomorrow?). A lot of folks have...

I think the whole route is based on a disused railway from what the OS map shows?

I did some gentle birding along the Devon Way early this morning. Original plan was to ride from Alloa via Tullibody then along the foot of the hills east but I stumbled onto the NCN 767 just outside the station so I followed that and it takes you to Fishcross, Devonside and on to Dollar. If...

Seems a while since someone mentioned Sheriffmuir? Yesterday I did a repeat of a walk from last year starting in Bridge of Allan up via some woods and the golf course to Cooksburn Resevoir and on to Sheriffmuir. I go quite slowly birding along the way so by the time I got to the muir it was...

Visited Argaty today. Last time I walked along the Doune A road so this time I tried the Old Doune Road and NCN765 which is much better. I didn't go for the official feed time but saw two Red Kites there and Tree Sparrows at the feeder. Along the way I saw Raven, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Reed...

Yes the full walk was from the train station, I forgot to start the watch.

Aha, but that is the recommended way of getting there as per the reserve website (which in turn directs you to this page https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/loch-of-lowes.shtml Of course it may not be the fastest way of getting there!? Anyway this is where I ended up walking...

Well I've been and returned. As predicted the reserve was officially Closed to the extent that as I hovered a ranger came out and politely but firmly redirected me elsewhere, basically seemed to discourage me from walking anywhere close to the loch. Possibly she was concerned I might double back...

Thanks, I'm on foot so will take the Fungarth path to get there from Dunkeld. I did just read this statement on the reserve site: "Please note the woodland trail is not currently accessible when the Visitor Centre is closed." ?

I'm thinking of a quick trip up to Dunkeld/Loch of the Lowes/Pitlochry, any tips beyond what I can read on WTWBIS? I believe the reserve is only fully open Fri-Sun at the moment, presumably I can still see most of what I need to?

Went to Auchterarder today as I thought being half-way between Argaty and Scone I had to see at least one of Red Kite and Hawfinch ;-) As luck would have it I managed the kite just as I was leaving which made the trip worthwhile, also a Raven flew over the station too. Quite a lot of Pink-footed...
