    Yep Tamar. I think the Lower lake will be best this time of the year (there is also a hide there). The Upper is good in the winter but quite this time of the year I suspect.

    There are quite a few Dartford sites in Devon Dave but like you say they are mostly kept quite about.

    Northam Burrows:- 29/04/2011 Plenty of Wheatear's around this year - the males are looking stunning at the moment. I particularly like the tail spread in this one (click for large image).

    White Stork River Torridge nr Weare Giffard 10:30 Managed a few distant shots through hedge and trees as the bird was feeding in the River. Last seen way up high and drifting over Torrington direction - cracking bird !!! More shots to follow.

    Probably the bird that Maurice C saw at Pottington yesterday Stu. Its was either on the Bradford reserve or in the river fairly near to there.

    Waxwing reported at Bideford (east-the-water) this morning. With the Exeter and Turf birds and one from Ilfracombe a few days ago it looks like they have hit Devon in reasonable numbers.

    Part of a 600+ flock of Wigeon on.Penhill Marsh this morning. Also 12 Brent in with the Canada flock. At Anchor Wood Bank there were 500+ Dunlin feeding on the sandbanks together with 20 Teal, 12 Sanderling and the usual Curlew, Redshank, Lapwing, Shelduck and Oystercatchers.

    I was going to say Jon that there was a leucistic Sparrowhawk kicking around last year which was occasionally mistaken for a Gyr if I remember correctly.

    The great white was at fremington quay over a week ago and is a goner. I thought the Buff sand was also gone but it was reported as still being in the same area on birdguides at 12:30 today.
