    it never rains ..... ...hadnt seen a Gossander for ages then saw a pair on sunday just below Badgers Halt on the Dart and then again at Stover. Probably wont see another for a few years now !!

    so there i was...... ...looking at the rutting deer on exmoor. Making my way down a valley stalking a bloody big stag with its hinds, I noticed a crow in the tree to my right. I ignored it and kept my eyes on the stag. The stag ran off and in frustration I looked at the crow and had kittens...

    I saw the thread last week about Nightjars and wondered if you guys were successful. For 4 of the last 5 evenings I have been staking out a spot where a nightjar sits to call -trying to get a decent shot. The first night the click of my shutter frightened it off - a blur Day 2/3 it came too...

    ok guys thanks for the input. I have become a bit of a regular at Dawlish - and yes i do use free parking- mentioned in the earlier logs. It always amazes me how the regulars there identify a small blob flying about a mile out in the estuary and are invariably right when it gets into my vision...
