    'Birder' or 'photographer' it is not in the interest of schedule 1 species to be advertised on this site especially at this time of the year. I know of at least one site last year where the chicks were taken prior to fledging. This was a site that was regulary featured on a local sightings...

    Seawatch at Berry Head 0915hrs - 1415hrs Great Skua 4 Arctic Skua 4 Balearic 1 Pomarine Skua 1 Eider 1 Great Northern Diver 1 Also Little Auk and another Balearic early on, which I missed.

    Just to add to the above. Whilst working a night shift in Torquay last night between 2200hrs and at least 0100hrs there were lots of Redwing calling overhead I counted 5 calls per minute as an average when I was able to.

    2 Black Redstarts at Sharkham village, Brixham at the moment, 3 there last year normally resident all winter. Good views you can normally get to within 12 ft of them, failing that knock on my door as they are in the garden alot of the time!

    No sign of the Snow Bunting at Slapton today. Did get great views of the female Marsh Harrier today though, 30m away quartering over the reeds next to the road for about 5 minutes. Did I have a camera?...no.

    A fantastic day Sea watching at Berry Head with some experienced seawatchers (passing on ID skills and knowledge! Thankyou), undoubted highlight was my first Great Shearwater following a trawler into the bay, really good close views for 15 minutes could make out all the detail. Lots of Common...

    Hi, Warren House Inn area and the walk around to Challacombe farm is very good, should see quite a range birds, Redstart, Cuckoo, Winchat, lots of Willow Warbler maybe Hobby etc and the Soussons area nearby is worth a look, Tree pipit, Garden Warbler etc.

    Sharkham Point, Brixham can be good. Also Mansands around the corner from Sharkham can be very good in winter especially the flooded fields can bring interesting birds in, Water pipit if lucky.

    Went for a walk on a very busy Broadsands with my son today and was pleased to get my first Reed Warblers of the year, very close, 2 singing and showing really well and a possible 3rd which flew off before I could Id it. Has anyone else had them there before?

    Seawatch at Shoalstone beach car park, Brixham. 30+ Manx Shearwaters, 7 Common Tern, 2 Sandwich Tern and 15 Swifts. Anyone see the Shrikes today, may go up tomorrow.
