As it says - distantly, I guess. Probably save you a walk along the Tarka Trail to get a good look at them at close range! I haven't been over to see them recently (but tomorrow is another year!), so I think they are indeed still viewable from the path around Isley Marsh reserve. I can see them...

You could also try the small reserve at Bradiford Water (it's at the west end of the pottington industrial estate in Barnstaple) - we saw 2 Green Sandpipers and 2 Whinchats there this afternoon. The Tarka trail on both sides of the estuary is usually good! Good birding!

An adult male Rose-coloured Starling was present this morning in a private garden in Kingsheanton - just west of Barnstaple. If you go to the hamlet, be aware that there is virtually nowhere to park.

Hi Wibble, I had a text from Shaun Barnes on the island today to say he had seen it at halfway wall at 13.20. I put it on another thread and on Birdguides. I also asked Shaun to try to let the Shore Office know if it is still there in the morning before the boat goes (he did the same for me...

The Trumpeter Finch gave us the run around on Lundy today, but was finally nailed at about 3 p.m. giving us time to get back to the boat via the pub. Couple of Spotted Flycatchers in Millcombe and a Turtle Dove seen from the Oldenburg about half way back heading at high speed towards Wales...

Working in the reserve at Bradiford Water this morning when the White Stork flew over, circling for about ten minutes before heading on west. Ironically Malcolm Shakespeare had been on his bike looking along the Traka Trail nearby about an hour before, and had gone back south of the river. He...

Ringed a few migrants today, (8 Blackcaps, mostly extremely fat so off further north I suspect) were the highlight, but the first Sedge Warblers (4) were welcome. Later I bumped into a couple of people in Braunton who had heard a Grasshopper Warbler reeling out at Saunton Down/Down End.

I think the concensus is that the 2 Geese with the Swan herd at Newbridge are both Pink-feet.
