    There were some great examples down by the lake at (coincidentally) Harewood about 2 weeks ago - - they'd roped them off so people couldn't trample them. There was a white stork present in the bird garden.

    John, went saturday evening - warden appeared in Singleton hide about 8.55pm and coughed politely - 9pm shut every night. no idiots when I visited. Beware baby toads on the path - would be easy to leave a mass murderer!

    on the little owl theme I also saw my 'regular' one near Eccup Whin for the first time in a while on my evening run yesterday. Also Common Buzzard soaring above Bramhope today - first ever, and can no longer presume all soaring raprors are red Kite.

    what a tosser. managed to blag 4 hours this morning and set off for Wykeham or Flamborough - if a report of SC had come in I would have turned off the A64 but as it didn't headed to Wykeham - glad I did really as have previously missed out or not been fully convinced about picking out the HB's...

    couple of bits: still getting small parties of siskin on the bird feeder along with at least 4 different bullfinches. Had a buzzard over Huby (North of Harewood) today being mobbed by a bh gull - I keep hearing there's buzzards around there and breeding in the area but it's the first I've seen...

    30plus waxwings in Bramhope this aftie - second lot in the past few days. Btw - whilst driving through the Dales (A65) at night over the past 10 days have seen multiple barn owls hunting - hopefully they are hanging in there.
