    Just seen c60-70 Barnacle Geese heading W over the A64 between hull and selby roundabouts. Feral or Wild? Thoughts? Mark.

    My best garden birds are Siskin, Redpoll & Reed Bunting. Not too bad for the middle of an estate. I expect that to climb as i have planted tons of trees annd bushes and built a pond. I expect Mr Flowers might have some corkers on the subject of a garden list.

    Managed to locate some local Little Owls on the edge of strensall common, only a few yards from a pair of Barnies. Must be a good spot! Mark.

    Couldn't resist going to see the HBs even though my scope is at the doctors, (too many drops i guess). Still good views even with just bins. Garden Warbler also buzzing about the watchpoint. Might be worth getting up to Timble to check out the Owls and Jars. Mark.

    Thanks for the tip-off doc, managed to connect with the adult tawny but couldn't find the babys. Did the river walk and was rewarded with tons of young warblers including loads of sedgies.     Look for redstart between the old stone bridge and the beginning of the strid woods. At the stone hut watch the dead tree a hundred yards down the river on the left for a nice suprise. Mark.

    It was feeding behind the bank so was only visible sometimes from the gate. Best from lin-dyke when i was there yesterday. Mark.

    Got the Crane and a Wood Sandpiper on spoonbill flash yesterday dinner-time (best viewing point for both birds). Also Hobby (x2), Kite and Buzzard over the area. Cuckoo singing near LinDyke and a showy displaying sedge warbler near the gate overlooking sponbill flash from the road. Mark.

    Wheres the "refuge" at wheldrake? Mark. Managed to get out myself this weekend to the Dales to get in some grouse spotting. Red Grouse were that close you could throw your coat over them.
