    Norfolk birding

People are morons, especially those who dish out this kind of rubbish. They are usually the ones that would take most offence at being labelled with such derogatory terms. Your find gave a lot of people a lot of joy. Kudos to you.

Popped out to see the Radde's Warbler at Warham yesterday afternoon. Parking was semi-sensible and the bird well observed by those present. Great to finally see a Radde's so well. Topped off a fine couple of days birding.

    Norfolk birding

The countryside teaming with birds this morning before the heavy cloud came over. 4 Turtle Dove, 2 Corn Bunting, Nightingale, scores of Blackcap, Whitethroat, Yellowhammer, Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff all looking, and sounding, fantastic in the warm sun. BOPS on show too with Red Kite...

Thanks Steve. This one spent most of the time roughing up the Rock Pipits! Interesting to watch. Cheers

That's an odd one! Look forward to comments on it. Out of my league sadly but interesting to say the least.

Snettisham is proving to be a very enjoyable and easy place to walk around when the sun is shining. The Little Bunting contined to show well on occasion but an evening walk proved far more productive in terms of general birds. Cuckoo, Swift, 3 Med Gull, Barn Owl, Lesser Whitethroat, Grasshopper...

    Norfolk birding

Thank you :) I have just started using a Canon 1D mark 3 and this was joined to a canon 400mm f5.6 lens. The Little Bunting was incredibly confiding when it did show well but it did help that I had it to myself for 15 minutes or so. The Gropper showed like this for a mere second in 35 minutes...

    Norfolk birding

A very enjoyable morning at Snettisham. I originally went out to try and see/photograph spring migrants but was told that the Little Bunting was still present so decided to give it a look as well. It eventually showed very well, although briefly. The place is alive at the moment with a great...

Oh not suggesting otherwise Pat. Just what was mentioned to me by someone present at the time when I asked if the perches were still there :) Cheers

All fair points. In which case a well known Norfolk photographer has his name linked to an event which didn't occur.

    Norfolk birding

Presumably photographers? correct you may be but not something you should be assuming. Secondly I am told permission was sought and granted earlier this week. the story goes a ranger came along, photographed the bird on the perches then removed them....pot, kettle. Finally I think some...

Very worrying news if large amounts of reedbed have been flattened.

    Norfolk birding

Gramborough now an island, standing firm against the sea. Such horrible scenes today. Can honestly say I didn't enjoy photographing it, as captivating as it was. Some big decisions to be made at Cley reserve I fear, has it reached a stage where it is no longer able to be protected...

Apparently showed well for a time! Very annoying I can't make it over there until Sunday morning at the earliest. C'est la vie

    Norfolk birding

Didn't manage to get much birding done over the last few days, for a variety of reasons, but did manage to see some lovely migrants. Highlight has to be the Salthouse Wryneck which was a joy to photograph. The Icterine Warbler found by Sean McCann at Cley was also rather good. A few photos here

    Norfolk birding

Lovely photo. Found the little chap again about 4 ish I guess where it stayed on the shingle bank. A horde (No jokes, must have been 40 birders) came out of no where and followed it down the beach towards Kelling.
