The car just pulled up and then two people in it napped the whole time I was around the lake (1 hour or so). Takes all kinds I suppose. Kingfishers were busy most of the time I was there which was like 2-3 ish. Seemed to be one going to the swan's nest side before flying over to the other side...

Yes I'm not one to go and disturb wildlife to take a photo, seems a bit daft way to go about things with the tape. Also there was a car parked there most of the time. All a bit strange. I didn't see any young myself either.

Surprising quiet when I went down today (no dog emptiers, barely any kids, hardly any photographers bar a few old folk guarding the small ponds) except for the kingfishers. Lots of activity with them darting about, usually on the other side of the lake mind. Took plenty of distant shots, mostly...

Similar numbers of shelduck and goldeneye when I went over this weekend. Wandered across shortly before sunset and was a fair bit of kingfisher noise before seeing one scudding about - all on the main lake. Oh and why do they even bother with dog lead zones. The few who actually bother to have...

Had a visit today, didn't see a great deal except for a really tiny newt/lizard thing and a kingfisher a few times. It was the usual kingfisher sounds and flybys, but I did hear it slapping away (presuming giving a fish some stick) on the way out just past the pylon. Peered over the edge whilst...

Yea I was there today, I probably walked past you in my rush to get back home before it poured down - I was wearing all green. Everything is quite spaced out, could spend ages walking around there. It's a lot different to Billingham Beck Ecology Park which is far more condensed. Lake is nice...

Sounds a pretty busy area, hadn't even heard of the place til recently which is interesting given I live about 4 miles away. Will have to check it out sometime next week. Billingham Beck Ecology Park is my local patch but there doesn't seem to be anywhere near as much there as there is at...
