    confused about tripod head types for birding scope

    Personally, I hate a ball head. I have two and I can't stand them. They are so much more fiddly to use vs. a 2-way fluid head. I have had good luck with the Gitzo GHF2W and Leofoto's BV-10 2-way fluid heads. I actually believe I prefer the BV-10 as it's a little smoother when panning...
