I don't know whether post 94 constitutes evidence for that it's made in China or not. And I understand there is an ideological reason to dislike it if it is so. But I am looking forward to know if it meets my optical expectation. 7x28 is a very attractive configuration.

Hi Jan, Thanks for pictures. You mean this binocular is made in China, and the optical class is good? That is ok for me. The result is what matters. Regarding the lack of right eye diopter adjustment this is a drawback only for people with different diopters for left and right eye when using...

What???!!! 😬 Does not matter. 7x28 is a good configuration. And if ER is enough, it makes a very nice binocular for backpacking and travel. 🙂

Ok! I reacted because among people in general I dare to claim the majority do not have binoculars of this class. The majority of binocular buyers do not want to pay more than 100-200 dollars for a binocular, and many have some old 7x50 or so. At least it is my experience. It has to be that your...

Hi Jan! Do I understand this right: Zeiss, Swaro, Leica binoculars sell more than all other brands together?

Ok! My left eye has -4 and the right has -2,5. So a correction of 3dpt means I cannot get focus with my left eye but barely with my right eye. And because left is my dominant eye and the right has halvened resolution it means this 7x28 is practically useless for me without eyeglasses or contact...

The specs say: 3 dpt Diopter correction at ∞. Does that just mean the range of focus, and not for the right eye?

Hopefully the eye relief is enough long that eye glasses wearers can use it with eyeglasses!

I actually don't understand why not. 7x28 is a very useful configuration which I think Swarovski should have offered earlier. Maybe the colors makes it looking like a toy, but I don't care. I am interested in this binocular. 🙂

This is confusing. In the technical specs it is written: Anyway I will get this new 7x28 providing: *eye relief is fully satisfactory for me *optical quality is at least on the level of Vortex Viper HD 6x32. I really like the colors!

I don't know exactly if this changes gradually or if it starts at a certain age. But at around 45 years age I started to have problem with reading a book or newspaper with the eyeglasses on. And now more than 10 years later I have hard to focus at closer than 1 meter.

I understand children don't need to refocus as much as adults. But a problem can be that left and right eye cannot adjust focus independently. Someone can correct me if I am wrong here.

That is really strange. But: if I understand it right diopter correction is only necessary for eyeglasses wearers when using binoculars without eyeglasses. With eyeglasses or contact lenses it should not be required. This means eyeglasses wearers(unless the eye sight is equal for both eyes)...

Yes. As with Vortex Bantam 6,5x32 there is no reason this binocular would not be a good option even for adults. The main feature intended for children is the shorter minimal distance between the barrels. And the ocular design is a bit more simple in order to hold down the price, and provides...

Very interesting. Swarovski's response to Vortex Bantam 6,5x32. Eye relief is stated to 18mm. That seems good, but now it's just to wait to know what does this mean in practise. When it comes to FOV I think it's good that Swarovski keep the AFOV at only 50deg, instead of sacrificing eye relief.
