    NL >=50 mm versions?

    I love using mine, and just had it out yesterday by a local lake where Bald Eagles are nesting and the nearby path is closed, so the extra magnification was welcome for viewing them as well as any waterfowl out on the lake. It was also a windy afternoon and the weight of the 56 helped to keep...

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    The myth cannot be killed. People just know what they think they see.

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    OK, "half" price was a joke, but the last EL 50s are turning up some places at $500-600 off.

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    I imagine most people do. In my case I'm never quite sure what a 12 would add to the 10 and 15x I use. And I already have enough bins that taking one means leaving too many home, so occasionally I'm still curious, but can't define a specific use case.

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    I don't understand this either. I didn't (need to) "tone down" my post reacting to your remark about "fallibility", merely rewrote it upon realizing "fallibility" wasn't the issue at all, neither yours nor Roger's. One distraction after another... now perhaps back to binoculars.

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    I'm not sure what this means, but never mind. You could have saved some time if you'd accepted a simple statement of fact, or researched it yourself, instead of just expounding your personal faith in your interpretation of Roger's words. Facts do not require debate.

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    Are you really? Nothing anyone can do about that, then! I might as well say: "He would have written 'perhaps due to the fact they use aluminum' if he meant what you're implying". But that would be very annoying. As I said, Swarovski no longer use aluminum bodies. From the SLC catalog...

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    What Roger Vine said there was: "still quite heavy at nearly 1200g, perhaps because they still use aluminium not magnesium for the body." Just an idle guess, and wrong. Swarovski SLC catalogs clearly say all models are magnesium, as only makes sense. I will certainly be keeping my SLC 56s...

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    No, it is not. I'd guess closer to 1100g for NL 52, serious weight around the neck even if it does handle well. And I wonder whether SLC 56's days are numbered as well as EL 50's, depending on what magnifications become available. Swaro do seem to like to pare the range down these days, and...

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    NL 52 has now been confirmed by Jan: Dusk light performance relative to weight, NL Pure 10x32 vs 10x42

    NL >=50 mm versions?

    I'm not really an EL guy but might be interested in a 12x50 at half price, to take a discontinued model off someone's hands...
