    Did you want to it bringing back to shaming birders on social media? My view is that it's like lots of things on social media, there's definitely some behaviour that should be called out in some way but it inevitably degenerates into insults and name calling in reality and probably achieves...

    I take the point but there was some very vociferous complaint that the bird was taken into care too soon, precisely because quite a lot of people didn't get there in time. I thought that was a bad look for birders to be honest, whether or not the bird was emaciated beyond recovery.
