    I suppose the fine chaps who shoot and poison them (or have their staff do the dirty work, rather) in the UK could let them breed and sell the youngsters to the fine chaps in the Gulf etc who prefer to hunt with falcons rather than Purdeys! Captive breeding of falcons is a well established...

    Quite, and it's instructive this fellow was stealing them for the Arab market rather than destroying the clutch (and the adult birds into the bargain) for "game management". In which case the standard tariff would have been a slap on the wrist and a telling off.
