    Haast's Eagle (in my dreams) Joking aside: H - Hartlaub's Turaco, beautiful flashes of red through montane forests around Aberdare National Park and Mt. Kenya Castle Lodge.

    B - Black-footed Albatross Seen in a Westport pelagic, amazing seeing them fly in and completely dwarf the Fulmars and Shearwater.

    X - Xiphorhynchus guttatus (Buff-throated Woodcreeper) Default Woodcreeper species in most of the Amazon basin to the point that you have to tune it out to find the rarer species. Best IDd by a series of squeaks that rise until the call just stops.

    M - Montezuma Oropendola One of the iconic "rainforest noises" of old movies. A rising gurgling call that's unique to it and related members of the family

    J - Jamaican Crow Locally called Jabbering Crow because of a series of gurgle like calls it makes outside of the usual "caw" calls.

    F - Fish Crow Being virtually identical to American Crow and sharing most of their range with them, you can tell them apart due to the Fish Crow's nasal "uh-uh" call

    N - Northern Beardless-Tyrannulet Not a lifer but a US tick, tried for this bird in 5 different sites in South Texas, sadly didn't even get to hear it call. Mostly felt bad for my friend, since it was a lifer for her, but a missed tick for me.

    J - (White-necked) Jacobin Didn't actively chased it, but it took me way to long to connect with this widespread Neotropic hummingbird (and yes, Jacobin alone works since it is the only one of it's genus within the range)

    H - Harpy Eagle 4 hour boat ride, slipping through a near vertical mud wall and bushwhacking through the rainforest at night on the way back. All to not only miss the bird that was seen earlier that day, but to instead be greeted by a Curassow and a Spider Monkey (prey items for the eagle)...

    B - Blue Bunting Three different times tried for a female bird seen in a little park in South Texas, let's just say I came back home with no Bunting and with a coping mechanism of telling myself that the female bird just looks like a drab female Indigo Bunting...
