    S - Smew Fairly regular winter visitor - although becoming more scarce

    If we could skip to W I can put down Waxwing (I spent 3 hours standing in the cold waiting to see them, never did, then had to bike the 40min to 1 hour home (at which point I realised I had a puncture!)

    Goldeneye - not really anything major but I once tried to see one at Wilstone Reservoir in Tring, and ended up deciding it must be a dot in a telescope - so I probably never saw it! (I have seen them since though!)

    Zebra Finch - a seriously cool looking bird - and unless seeing it as an escapee I could be in Australia!

    Eleanora's Falcon (dark phase) One of my favourite colours is black - so the idea of an almost completely black falcon really appeals to me.
