I use this thin lightweight adhesive camo on my Canon 100-500mm. Easily cut and applied with no glue residue if removed -- works great. I was thinking of using it on the exposed metal rings on the barrels of a used Retrovid that was for sale. Would care less about appearance. Worthless though... -

Thank you for posting this. Swarovski's admission of the problem should quell the denialism and sometimes hostile posts in this thread. Kudos (praise) to Swarovski for their reply and their confirmation that a new armor is being developed. -

Disclaimer: I have owned Swarovskis since 2003 (no issues whatsoever with newer SV's) but given the issue raised in this thread, do have concern about a company whose products I revere. 1. That the reputed reply from Swarovski is nearly 3-years old and even then was referencing a known problem... -

Well said. It is long overdue for Swarovski to provide a formal statement on the questions you pose. Not doing so only raises suspicions and is a disservice to current (and future) owners: in sum, a horrible way to run a reputable business. Their rationale is puzzling, especially for a company...
