    Congratulations! The Leica Trinovid BA/BN are indeed still very nice binoculars, good idea as a backup for your FL 7x42.

    Thanks Philipp. Yes it is a lovely little bino and more useful then i had thought. I found that it works good side by side a higher magnification bino, e.g. 12x50. There is a serial number (see picture) but no manufacturing date.

    This beautiful little 6x24 Porro from the former USSR arrived yesterday. Huge FOV, yellow cast, sharp with nice contrast. It‘s in a very good condition, especially considering it‘s age. The seller told me he bought it 40 years ago, used it a only few times and then it was in stored on the attic...

I was thinking to get a Swarovski or Meopta 15x56 to replace it (didnt look through any of those jet though) but for my purposes this old pair works quite good.     This morning i woke up early before sunrise and i had a great time watching early birds with my Zeiss FL 7x42 from the house. Lovely bright and super sharp binocular with wide FOV and outstanding ergonomics. If the rain stops i will take her with me today for a walk in de dunes/forest. .

    Maybe you can direct your optical gear towards objects inside your house or take a flashlight and explore the deep space of your binoculars. I know what you mean and feel your pain. Don’t give up, keep your mojo working 😆

    Last week i obtained a Binox 6x16, here i put it next to my UV 8x20 for size comparison. It‘s a funny small bino but the quality compared to the Leica…maybe nice as a gift or to put it in a small EDC bag.

    Today i used two binoculars, a Trinovid 7x42 BN together with the Zeiss 15x60, a perfect combination.
