Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

I've got the silver/orange version which I prefer as there is no black anodized metal to be chip and scratch.

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

I ended up getting the 10x40 SFL to replace it, which I found suited me better than the 10x32 SF! Never tried the NL 10x32 as I feel it is too heavy for a 32mm bin

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

Yes, for me there was too much of an overlap to justify keeping both, and as the 8x25 was older and the 7x21 slightly better, I decided to sell it. I was having a bit of a rationalization of my collection, so the 8x25 was sold (along with my Zeiss 10x32 SF)

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

Well actually I found I was using the 8x25 less and less, and eventually sold it. I now only have the Curio and don't miss the 8x25 at all. Like I said I feel the Curio is just that bit better but it could also come down to the fact that I like 7x binoculars. You really need to try both, and...

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

This is why I believe Dennis' premise is too simplistic - there are many more, and more important factors, that makes a binocular suitable for those crepuscular birders amongst us.

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

Isn't this above statement counter to your argument that a 10x25 is better than a 8x25 at dawn/dusk?? Under your premise surely the 10x42 will be better (because of the higher mag.) than the 8x56? Seems to be you just twist things around to suit your own biased opinions...

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

I thought we had the same discussion a while back and claim to the conclusion that this was pretty much nonsense??

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

Other factors come also into play, like it is easier to hold the 7x21 steady than the 10x25, making it likely that you will see more detail with the lower mag. bin.

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

So far so good! It's not showing any signs of discoloration etc. But I'm not using the original strap from Swarovski, just a simple wrist strap from an old compact camera.

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

I have a black 8x30 CL B and a green 8x25 CL. I always think the black finish is more prone to showing fingerprints/marks than the green, so personally I would go for the green.

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

The eyecups on the 7x21 are narrower, approximately 31mm OD vs approximately 34mm OD for the 8x25 - see photo. Both have very easy eye placement, for me at least, as I generally prefer narrow eyecups anyway. I'm not sure about the straps as I never use neck straps with such small bins...

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

I have the Curio 7x21, the CL 8x25 and the CL 8x30. The 8x30 is very good, and does not seem to get the love it deserves in my opinion. It is though much bigger than the other two so if you want something small to take with you on walks then it's a choice between the other two. I bought the...
