Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

Not heresy at all, it’s what you perceive. It’s been said hundreds of times here, that some are more sensitive to specific characteristics that others may not noice at all. Although from my experience, it seems to be rare that the SF’s slight color leaning due to coatings are unacceptable. But I...

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

I get that, I noticed the red and darkness of that early SE as well. The revised later model SE’s are nothing like that early version with the reddish color hue. Id also say there’s a huge difference between the immediately noticeable reddish image of those old Nikons and the slight green in the...

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

    Early version 8x32 501 or 502xxx? I had a similar experience.

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

I think the larger exit pupal and simpler eyepiece design has something to do with the more comfortable eye box. I understand what you mean about the more neutral image in the SFL, similar to what I see in many of the Swarovski’s. I’m very lucky with the 32SF, I have no issues with the eye box...

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

To clarify for those who may have misunderstood me, i’m not saying that there is no color hue difference in current top of the line binoculars, on the contrary, to a trained eye these slight color differences can be seen if you look for it. What I was saying is that imo it is only on the very...

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

I’ve always found some of these conversations about people seeing an unacceptable amount of color hue in upper end modern binoculars fascinating. When speaking specifically about the Zeiss SF’s, I’ve handed over 30 people these binoculars over time to beginners to relatively advanced observers...

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

Oh so you’re saying I was tricked by some local farmer that had horse stables. I’ll get back into the field this weekend once I get back from my yeti searching trip 😆. And I don’t mean the travel mugs from Walmart.

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

Same here, I love the Swarovski sharpness and to me truer color, but the Leica and Nikons are so much easier on my eyes over longer observing sessions. My eyes are not as fatigued at the end of the day.

Lol. You’re not looking hard enough. They like to hide in high grass, use higher magnification.

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

Fascinating, I learn something almost every week on BF. I’ve always thought Color accuracy and color neutrality were the same. It appears that I am more sensitive to being able to see red, yellow and green, but I do not notice blues. I always thought that my Swarovski EL’s and certainly my...

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

Lee I can see the green in the SF’s, only when comparing to other binoculars side-by-side. I also can say that I know that others can see it without side-by-side comparisons and some can’t see it at all. My wife cannot see the difference between the SF and EL, yet those are the two binoculars...

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

In my opinion the Swarovski Habichts and ELs are the closest thing in color , or lack thereof to what my eyes see naturally. When using the mentioned binoculars side-by-side my eyes can see a difference. Whether it’s a more saturated color of objects like Leica or just a slight color hue like...

Brain can’t do any adjustments until the eyes send the information🤪

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

It could also be your individual perception of that color hue, everybody’s eyes are different and perceive color more or less differently. I find the greenish hue increases contrast, go figure.

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

Wow well described. I never gave any thought to how each performs in different weather conditions. That could explain somewhat why I seem to like to take my SF when I’m going down to Florida , and we go to these tropical Parks and sanctuary‘s.

Do the owners of both Zeiss SF and Swarovski EL/NL feel they are uncomfortable for the different color cast?

It’s not annoying and it’s not uncomfortable. I have both the EL and SF 8x32’s, they are both phenomenal , top of the line and best in the world with the NL’s and Noctivids, although no 32 Noctivid yet. Each has its own personality with the EL being more neutral and the Zeiss having a more...
