    I will ask Bittern as I think he’ll know the stats for wintering R K, there’s a Jan or Feb roost count each year I think.

    That is a bit tardy even for this traditionally late breeder, on checking back over the past four years they were seen as late as the last week of October, I suppose the mild weather has meant the Brig birds have stayed on after breeding, or perhaps bred late after an initial failure.

    Looks like a Northern to me Mike, eyebrow seems a bit buff coloured before the eyes and above the bill, they’re moving through this week it seems as I saw three together in a field at low altitude near Geneva on Tuesday.
