    Just a last posting now back to the cold and wet of the UK; terns are one of my favourites to photograph so couldn't resist the fabulous Whiskered Tern at the treatment works platform. Keep up the Mallorca thread Mike - hopefully it will inspire the younger birders to take the lead in future years.

    Thanks Mike; The Whiskered Tern still at the Albufera water treatment works this afternoon plus a Quail calling, heard from the platform in the adjacent grass field. Final day unfortunately with little active migrants this week. Nice to be here though, 40 years since first spring time visit...

    Monarch butterflies still in same rough carpark as described earlier at Pollenca- interested to know if widespread?

    ..... and to update the access; the barrier has been re-instated so just parking room for two or three small cars. Beware of not blocking the roads as very large tanker lorries gain access through the big gates. I also note the thick hedge down to the platform gas gone.

    12 Sandwich Terns on the reef off Puerto Pollensa beach in the evening of 28 March and 2 Common Terns at the Albufera in the morning.

    Balearic Warblers singing occasionally at top end of Boquer Valley today. Plenty of Monarch Butterflies yesterday at Pollensa at the rough carpark near river at bottom of Tenelles Valley road

    Thank you for the news over past couple of weeks; do you know why the track is fenced off preventing sensible parking by the viewing platform? This was always a good easy spot with the vehicle safely visible! Thank you
