I think it would be quite good. Nice wide angle views. But if you want to glass across canyons or to far away clearcuts, I'd recommend a 10x or 12x. But these are very good binoculars. I have used them for birding, ship watching, some astronomy, and general use while hiking. I have nothing but... -
