    I have a spotting scope soft case from Marsupialgear.com, a USA company making a wide variety of optics cases for rugged outdoor use. I see they now have a "mini" scope case for either ATC or STC. For me it an excellent product, well made and protective.

    i'd watched that previously. good to see him hold the ATX module up close to the STC...sizing compare..as far as i'm hearing, he's not claiming the STC prism is the same as the ATX/STX, just that the ocular cup is the same size. Maybe it is the X prism components, but maybe not. Thinking glass...

    agree likely retained optical design, just not same optical components, so not the STX/ATX module, which is a hefty (and bulky) 28 ounces, while the STC is a swelte 34 ounces complete. I'm probably reading incorrectly between the lines. maybe all that bulk and weight of the ATX module is due to...

    From my read of marketing, and a pre-emptive reviewer, the only thing that is 'ATX eyepiece' is the screw-out ocular cup. it is the same size cup as what is on the ATX/STX, and that makes it easy to use existing smart phone adaptors, etc..
