    Buttonquail on Santa Maria, Azores

    I'm just quoting from the book - I'm sure they mean Common. Given that Quail are so common in the Azores it does seem believable that the Buttonquail might be there too - the habitat must suit them. I wonder how many people have looked for them.

    Page 130 of the Bradt guide to the Azores 6th edition 2016: "By far the most intriguing resident is the newly discovered little buttonquail ... which inhabits scrub-covered grassland at the southern end of the airport [Santa Maria}" Is this true? I can find no reference to it elsewhere. Maybe...
