Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

I purchased the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32’s at a great price as well but ended up returning them. Even with the extended eyecups, they just didn’t work out for me. I liked the Conquest HD 8x42’s better and if I had found them at the same sale price, I would have bought and kept them. The...

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

That’s pretty darn cold for any binoculars. I’m still interested in the Auroras and if funds permit, I might give them a try. Stay warm!

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

Sounds like the Auroras might have the wow effect that I’m looking for and will fit my budget. The Conquest HD 8x32’s were very clear and bright but didn’t provide any “wow” effect for me. I agree that the eye cup movement is a minor that can be fixed with the o-rings. I appreciate you...

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

I was wondering if with extended use the focus wheel would loosen. That’s good to know. I read comments regarding the eye cups not staying put. That’s a great tip of using o-rings. Although, it’s too bad the eye cups aren’t removable if they ever need to be replaced by the user; however...

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

Maybe the ones with focusing issues were from the first factory runs. That’s quite a testimony to the Auroras.

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

That’s too bad because I’ve read some great comments about the Auroras. I recently returned a pair of Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32’s but have to admit the focus wheel was very smooth. Cheers!

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

The focus wheel not turning smoothly and turning CCW are pretty much the only negative comments I’ve read regarding the Auroras. I believe Ratal mentioned his works fine, so maybe the sticky focus wheel is only in a few of these binoculars. Cheers!

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

The 8x42 is pretty popular and versatile power for birding. I appreciate the reply. Cheers!

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

Maybe the Auroras will provide that "wow" factor that I've yet to find in binoculars 1k and under. Yesterday's view provided by the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42's of the pigeons on the telephone pole was very clear and bright and compared to the Leica Trinovid 8x42's was pretty close from what I...

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

I ended up returning the Conquest HD 8x32’s. I wanted to keep them, especially for the price I paid, but to me the clarity and view at greater distances weren’t a huge improvement over the binoculars I already have. They were much brighter, during cloudy days, and I found them very clear...

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

I wonder if that’s the experience of most Aurora owners or if it takes a little time to break in. Cheers!

What don’t you like about the focused? Is it the CCW direction? Cheers!

That says a lot if your much more expensive Zeiss binoculars have take a back seat to the Auroras. Cheers!

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

I noticed that Meopta raised their prices quite on bit. I've read mostly positive opinions and reviews on the Meopro Airs but not many on the regular Meopros. I've looked through a Meopro scope, and it's pretty clear glass. Cheers!

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

It seems that almost all of the owners of the Auroras are extremely satisfied with their binoculars. I've only read negative comments regarding the CCW focus wheel but don't think this would be an issue for me. I appreciate you sharing your experience with the Auroras. Cheers!

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

Sounds like the Aurora binoculars are a keeper. Opticron doesn't have much of a presence here in the States, at least where I live, and it's a shame that more local dealers don't carry their optics. I was at a local hawk watch and was able to try binoculars from Leica, Swarovski, Vortex, and...

Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

Are there any longterm reviews or opinions on the Aurora 8x42 and 10x42 binoculars?
