    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

A fixed eyepiece may be sharper and will probably have a wider field of view, but it depends on the specific eyepieces. Peter

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

30x would be a good power, enough of a step up from 9x, though there’ll be times you’ll want more or less. Svbony sell some flat field eyepieces that I think people have reported using: Peter

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

You need to test each Barlow in the scope you want to use. Spotting scopes seem to have more limited focus range that Astro refractors. The most sure option is to get a higher power eyepiece, rather then playing about with other Barlow that could well stuffer the same issue. Get a cheap eyepiece...

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

Barlow lenses will move the focal position of your scope, so you may not be able to focus as you found. Different models may do this differently, I would just get a shorter focal length eyepiece (checking that the model comes to focus correctly). Peter

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

Wider field eyepieces held with drift at high powers and you can stabilise tripods a bit by hanging a weight below the head. I added a hook to mine so I can hang my backpack on it when observing. peter

Be interested in the lite comparison, edge sharpness, chromatic aberrations etc, how things change at the highest power… sounds very positive. peter

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

I’ve just picked up a 12.5mm Morpheus to replace my current main spotter eyepiece a 13mm Nagler. As I am using reading glasses more and the Nagler has limited eye relief and noticable distortions and kidney beaning I thought the change worth making. With the Morpheus it’s easy to take in the...

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

I use a 12-13mm wide angle (Nagler/Morpheus) in my spotter as the main eyepiece around 30x, with 7mm or so for higher power. How does the Svbony keep up with the Nikon? peter

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

I’ve bought a few cheap generic astro parts from Svbony before and just noted they also sell some 80mm ED spotters. Both come with a 20-60x zoom and seems to get reasonable reviews. The interesting part is the 406P advertises it can also take 1.25” astro eyepieces (don’t know about the 46P)...
