Using DS eyepieces for viewing on a ED82 fieldscope?

This is the same progression I went through. Now that I have both, deciding between the 30x and 38x is pretty tough. If it is fairly bright and calm it will be the 38, and if its cloudy or rainy and windy the 30. You would certainly be perfectly content just using the 38x universally, I did that...

Using DS eyepieces for viewing on a ED82 fieldscope?

I suspect they are different. The MC 24/30 is very short and has a smaller ocular lens, Nikon also says it isn't recommended for use with the ED50. I am not sure you would necessarily notice a difference between the two though.

Using DS eyepieces for viewing on a ED82 fieldscope?

I was worried...

Using DS eyepieces for viewing on a ED82 fieldscope?

I have a 82ED that I almost exclusively use the 38x MC wide eyepiece with (I also have both of the MC zooms). I have wanted a 24/30 MC wide eyepiece for a while now, but they just aren't available anymore. You can still get the 24/30 DS eyepiece, but as a non-glasses wearer it seems like it...
