    True, that's my experience, too with binos like the Kowa 6.5x32 and other super wide angles. They often sacrifice a flatter field for that. That's why Alphas are so expensive. The Kowa for example has some strange distortion going on at the outer edge that almost looks like a barrel distortion...

    I just did a little shootout between Opticron 6.5x32, APM 6x30, Nikon Action 7x35, Kowa BDII 6.5x32 and a vintage wide angle 7x50. The Opticron might not be quite as good as the Kowa or APM but it's not much of a difference to the Nikon Action, except the Opticron has better coatings for less...
