    Another long walk, from the house today, bit of a later start and a nippy breeze seemed to bring out the Raptors several Sprawks seen, Buzzards, Kestrels and a couple of Ravens.     Car in the garage, so a local walk around Hurstpierpoint, pretty quiet really, though winkled out a few nice bits, mainly Yellowhammers which seem to be hanging on around here, couple of Linnets, a Red Kite and a Sparrowhawk the best of the rest!!     Went and saw the Burgess Hill Waxwings this morning, showed well enough but the light once again was terrible, seems to be this winter that whenever I go and see Waxwings the sun does a runner!!! More pics on the blog at the link, bit of cake action on there as well...

    A walk along the Downs adjacent to Hurstpierpoint, from the Clayton Windmills towards the Ditchling Beacon, didn't make it to the Beacon, but a nice walk none the less.     Was tipped off about a large flock of Yellowhammer in the local area, managed to track them down, not through any magic fieldwork, they were in the exact field where i was told they were :) weather was murky, birds were flighty, but nice to see a sizable flock, 100+ birds, got Peregrine on me...
