    how to get good daytime views of Woodcock?

    Difficult! Flight photo you can get in midsummer, when Woodcocks start roding long before it is fully dark. Otherwise, maybe somebody will tell you if he knows a spot which it regularly visits. You can also, after flushing one, wait for an hour and return to the same sport, and scan carefully...
