    Red kite now are on the western edge of London, saw one near my house recently. Only saw a little egret hunting for fish in a local park in the drizzle this morning… Peter

    Staines Moor, for short eared owls that are currently in residence - at least 6. The family were using the binos, I was “cheating” (slightly) with a scope as they were all a fair way off. Amazing birds! Peter

    At the weekend with my 30x70 binos at WWT Slimbridge. Huge numbers of lapwing, golden plover, knot, geese, widgeon, teal, some crane and many more. Amazing place! My Nikon 8x30E2 got little use as they were narrow in comparison. Very windy, so I am asking Santa for a better tripod. Peter

    Not seeing a family of long tailed tits. I heard gem and saw them swoop over and land on a nearby tree, but the bins were in the house and when I’d got them and came back out the birds hat flown off... must try to keep a pair of bins ready by the back door. Peter

    Caught some sand Martin’s on the ground collecting nest material with the bin bins, great to see them in detail when not zipping about so fast! Peter

    Took the new APM 70mm ED bins to the London Wetland Centre. Getting towards the end of the wildfowl season in the U.K., though still a few hangers on when I went out last week.
