What did you see in your binoculars today?

Some first of season birds for me today - Nightingale, N Wheatear, Eur Reed Warbler. Also fun watching a good number of Red & Black Kites, Kestrels, and Buzzards harassing each other a bit and taking turns being harassed by / harassing stacks of Carrion Crows.

What did you see in your binoculars today?

Indeed, the spring weather is lovely! Friday I went for a two hour walk around my new local patch and had four Woodpecker sp (Great Spotted, Middle Spotted, Euro Green, Black), Hawfinch, Fieldfare, nice long looks at both Treecreepers at eye level, and sunshine! Saturday we went to another local...

What did you see in your binoculars today?

Managed to catch a break in the rain and get out into a brisk cold wind. Stacks of gulls blown into the area but nothing interesting in my quick look through. The same female Ferruginous Duck x Common Pochard and apparently the same LBB Gull that I've been seeing for a couple weeks were the most...

What did you see in your binoculars today?

I also had lovely looks at a Mistle Thrush today, several ST Treecreepers, some Bramblings and some very cooperative low and close Goldcrests. Using Nikon MHG 8x30.

What did you see in your binoculars today?

No binoculars but five species of parrots and parakeets today, naked eye, on a beautiful summer day. Four of the five are introduced but I still enjoy seeing them.

What did you see in your binoculars today?

I spent a few hours yesterday at the brilliant Costanera Sur - one of the best urban reserves anywhere - and chalked up almost 90 species in 3 hours and change. I can get more but I usually prefer walking slower and picking through activity for something interesting to covering ground in order...

What did you see in your binoculars today?

Sterngucker, at least your gangsters are colorful, charismatic, and well, they make a lot of interesting noises :) I'd kill for something like Green Jays as a yard bird. Unfortunately Plush-crested Jay (our local fancy variety) doesn't QUITE make it to Buenos Aires. Not too far north of here...

What did you see in your binoculars today?

Went to the local park early for some exercise this morning to beat the rain, and took the bins along. Had really nice looks at 4 species of parrots/parakeets - Turquoise-fronted Parrot, Maroon-bellied Parakeet, Yellow-chevroned Parakeet, and the typical plague of Monk Parakeets. Nicest...

What did you see in your binoculars today?

Harris's Hawk is urban in many places from Tucson, AZ to Argentina. And it really is quite urban here, it's in the thick of the city, circling around sky scrapers and the like right down town. As far as Peregrines go, I've seen them from the apartment a couple times, and at the local reserves a...

What did you see in your binoculars today?

30+ Maguari Storks in a kettle then lazily drifting southwest over the city toward the interior, looking a bit out of place with multistory residential blocks as the backdrop. Also a pair of Harris's Hawks being relentlessly harassed by a pair of Cattle Tyrants. Small time drama among the urban...
