    Watched about a half hour today as a pair of peregrine falcons swept down from their seashore cliff nesting site to attack passing pelicans. Mostly feather pulling and buzzing, no blood drawn.     Walking the beach at the base of a cliff in San Diego CA this morning I watched a peregrine falcon leave its perch, circle overhead a couple times, and fly off. At 150 feet away, using 8x binoculars, it looked close! Beautiful bird.

    Two-day-old mourning dove chicks being fed by mom. They nest every year outside the garage window in my dragon fruit plants. The parents are tame enough that they don't mind being observed close focus (Trinovid 8x32HD) but this photo was taken through garage window.
