The main problem with the goshawk walk is that they don't often see any goshawk! People often stop off at kielder water bird of prey centre, kwbopc.com, just to make sure.

If he is from a small private collection (with other males) it may well be that he's had is knackers done to prevent rutting. They should maybe try this on said wallsend numpties to prevent the fights at throwing out time down the bigg market on a friday night.

Nearly hit a sparrawk this morning in the car whilst it was trying to avoid a couple of crows. What was unsual was where it happened. On the central motorway in newcastle city centre just north of the swan house round about. It was a bit more interesting than watching the guy behind me...

Is the perg regular on the tower? I've notice them roosting on the pylons in the woolsington area in the past. It's about time we had some breeding in the city centre, every bugger else seems to have them.

I'm guessing it is the one that has been knocking around Wallsend (feeding on cats) for a while now. Falconers have tried to get it back 'on the fist' but without joy. I'm not sure what happens next. I've heard that it is roosting on private land and the land owner is happy to have it there...

Cheers Brian, The swift isn't so fast now, in fact it isn't moving at all. I fed the thing this morning and took off another 2 biting beasts. It was having nothing to do with flying. By this afternoon, before i managed to put it back up in the roof it was dead. I guess the parasite burdon...

fallen baby swift Advice please. What should i do with this little fella? It was found on a friends lawn. Had it been a perching bird i would have advised putting it in the nearest bush but i can't imagine an adult swift coming down to feed it. I've had a good look at it and removed one...

I use a photo software called 'gimp' (be careful when googling!). It lets you do the basic stuff, croping, brightness etc. The best thing about it is the price... it's free! You can download it from...... http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

Great North Park (again) Thank you all for the HH details. I've just come back from a wander around the local patch. Nothing unusual. The highlight was a pair of grey part that i nearly stood on and a sparrowhawk carrying off her supper!
